The login method for accessing GALILEO has been updated to use the OpenAthens authentication system.

(OpenAthens is a secure authentication service that allows users to log in safely to GALILEO resources.)

For Off-Site access, users now need to log in with an individual account. Please see the detailed instructions below. 

How to Request an Account

To create an account, please submit the following information to registrar@gcuniv.edu or library@gcuniv.edu

First Name, Last Name

Email Address

Once the account is created, a login instructions email will be sent to the address you provided. 

Follow the instructions in the email to set your password and log in. 

How to Log In (Off-Site)

Go to galileo.usg.edu 

Search for “Georgia Central University” 

You will be redirected to the OpenAthens login page. 

Log in using your registered email address and password. 

On-Site Access

If you are on campus (connected to the GCU network), you can access GALILEO without logging in. 

Temporarily Service Limitations 

While the GALILEO system is currently operational, resources from major vendors such as EBSCO, ProQuest, and others have not yet been fully activated. 

As a result, you may experience the following temporary issue:

Some databases may be inaccessible

Search functionality may be limited or unstable 

These issues are expected to be resolved within approximately two weeks.
